2.  On Monday, November 10th the Board of St. Gabriel is sponsoring activities to raise funds for our children.

The day begins with Mass at 7 A.M.

The dedication Ceremony & Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. The tickets price is $25 and there is an Open House from 9 to 11 a.m.

The Gala Dinner will be held at Bruno’s from 6:30 – 10 p.m., the ticket price is $100. Invite your friends, neighbors and graduates to join us!

3. Thank you to the De La Salle Christian Brothers for their $25,000 sponsorship of the Gala.

4. We have received a grant to have an adult exercise group. There will be a   professional instructor.  The applications are in the office and the program is open to all adults.

5. English classes ~ If you want to learn English as a second language, please contact    Mrs. Palmer.
                   
6.  Sweaters and Sweatshirts – as the colder weather approaches, students should wear a maroon sweater or sweatshirt to school.  Only maroon should be worn ! !

7. Tuition – Please pay your monthly payment by the 5th of each month. The Computer fee was due in September.  Please make sure that this fee is paid by November 10th.

8. Report Cards – Grade 1-8 will receive their first report card on Friday December 5th.  This next month is very important.  Please encourage your child to be attentive in class, to complete all assignments and to study at home.  If you wish to speak with your child’s teacher, please contact them for and appointment.

9. Candy Drive is over.  Thank you to each and every family for your support. Please send all money to the office (1 box = $52)

10. Registration News – Application are available for any parent who would like to             register             their child for Nursery, PreK. If a family moves into our neighborhood near you invite   them to visit with their child.

2.         Thank you to all, for your help in recruiting students for our school.  We have more students than last year!
            During October we often have students register for Early Childhood grades.  This year we only have openings in Nursery, PreK.  If you know of anyone who wants to register a 3 year old or 5 year old, please encourage them to register now.  
            There are only a few opening in grades 3 and 6. Please tell your friends and neighbors to visit us and register for these grades.

3.         C.Y.O. Basketball – for information about the basketball teams call Mrs. Palmer. Register Now!!


4.         Candy Drive – Each family is expected to sell 1 box of chocolates.  The candy drive runs from October 3rd to October 24th.
                        There are 2 ways to sell the candy:

  • Take orders from friends and family.  Bring in the money and you will receive the candy the same day.
  • You may take out boxes of candy in advance of paying by sending in a note with your signature, with the child’s name, class and the amount you would like.  You are responsible for any candy you take out!  The candy sells for $1 each.  Please help us make this the most successful drive ever.

 
5.         Tuition – Your October payment is due by the 5th of this month.  At this time everyone should be up to date with their payments.  A $20 late fee will be charged to you if your account falls past due.  There is also a $20 returned check fee for any check that is returned.  Please use the tuition envelopes!
            * Starting October 1st we will be accepting credit/debit cards for tuition payments.**

6.         Uniforms – All students must be in school uniform.  If you need to order any items for your child, Please call the uniform company at 718-416-3151.

7.         Picture Day - Nursery – 8 grades will take Class pictures on Thursday, October 23rd.  Individual & Graduation Pictures will be taken on Friday, October 24th.

8.         Chocolate & Gift Wrapping Paper and Candle fund raiser ended on September 26th.  Please have your orders in to the office by, Wednesday October 1st.  Late orders can’t be filled.  This fundraiser is for you 30% of your sales will be deducted from your computer fee.  Please make all checks payable to St. Gabriel School.

9.         If your child is Catholic and did not receive First Communion or First Penance and is in Grade 3-7, please contact Mrs. Palmer.

Open House – Grades 1-8, Wednesday, September 10th.  All parents are expected to attend this Opening of School Meeting.  This gathering will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Uniforms – The uniform company will be here, Tuesday, Sept.16th at 8:30 A.M. to measure any students who needs a uniform.  All students in grades 1-8 must be in uniform.

On gym day, students are to wear the school gym uniform.  In warm weather they are to wear a gray T-shirt in place of the sweatshirts

The 95th Street Library will continue its latch key program. Each day until 5:30 P.M. Students in grade 1 to 6 are able to attend the homework helper program at the Public Library on Astoria Blvd., and 95th Street.  This is a free program

Tuition – At this time, June, July & August payments should have been paid.  The monthly payments are due by the 5th of each month.  Please do not start the year by falling behind in tuition payments.

Late Registration – If you know anyone new to St. Gabriel who would like to register their children.  Please encourage them to register on Friday 9/5 and Monday 9/8
